On Saturday 10th September, The Electric Cinema will be opening its doors to the general public for a very special behind the scenes tour. It will delve into the building’s 100 years of history, from its beginnings as a news theatre all the way to its current status as one of the most popular independent cinemas in the UK since its art deco restoration in 2004 under current owner Tom Lawes. You’ll also get to hear stories about the characters who have owned The Electric over the years and take a look at the building’s unique architecture.
