Dhol Crew (Performance 2)

The Dhol Crew is an up an coming Dhol group based in West Bromwich, Birmingham, UK. The founder and manager of the Dhol Crew is Sanjay Kumar (known as ‘Sanj’) who has been playing Dhol for more than 10 years. Sanj has participated in festivals, TV appearances, charity events and has appeared in a pop video. Sanj has performed Live at major events such as Birmingham’s ArtsFestival for many years. Sanj has also performed alongside with several DJ’s, Bhangra groups and Band Baja groups. His most memorable Dhol performance was performing live at the BBC’s Blue Peter Queens Jubilee party back in 2002 where he performed the opening of the concert.

The Dhol Crew have attracted the attention of the media and radio stations all over the country. Taking part in major events such as Sandwell Community Show conducted by Smooth Radio. The Firework and Diwali Festival conducted by Beacon Radio, and Birmingham City Gardens conducted by Heart FM. Also an asian radio station Raaj FM saying good comments about us.
The Dhol Crew have attracted media such as ‘the Express and Star’, ‘Birmingham Mail’, and ‘Whats on magazine’
The Dhol Crew have taken part at the Beau Bridal shows which took place at Ricoh Arena and at the Hilton Hotel, Coventry (East meets West). The team have participated at a Autumn Fayre where Blind Dave also took part at this event.

The Dhol Crew have seniors and juniors in the team. When performing at big events the Dhol Crew will mainly take seniors (18 years and over), and maybe 2 or 3 juniors (14 years and over, who are young professionals).

When the Dhol Crew takes part at any type of events, no matter what the event or who the person is such as, the audience, media, promotors, artists, radios, clients, they all say fantastic comments about the Dhol Crew. Which I really get proud of due to when putting the work in you can accomplish anything, and that motivates me to inspire the Dhol Crew to be one of the best Dhol groups in the UK.
