Force Dance Company is a community non-profit making organisation run to provide young people with the opportunity to perform in a variety of dance styles in a variety of venues and occasions. Dancers are also given the chance to develop their choreography skills if interested. The main Force choreographers have backgrounds in contemporary dance, street jazz and latin styles giving Force Dance Company a vibrant mix of dance genres in their performance pieces. Force Dance Company have been involved in using dance for educational purposes in the very successful Slave 2 Fashion event last year that raised awareness of how the fashion industry has always had, and continues to have, links to slavery and child labour. Force will also be involved in the Dying to Drive educational workshop day highlighting issues related to young drivers and their higher risk of death and injury. This will be through their piece Wrecked, choreographed by Michael Knight with the theme of drink driving.
