Colette is convinced that she has hit on a fundamental truth – The Dancer is the Dance. She loves Salsa. Through this hot, sexy dance she has been re-born and so has Darren. Every Friday night she struts her stuff at Los Alamos in Bearwood. Resplendent in a figure-hugging red dress she takes to the floor with hubby Darren in tow. Salsa, she feels sure, has improved their sex life no end but, more importantly, it has helped her forget the pain of loss. Darren does not love Salsa. He’d settle for a quiet night down The Dog and Duck with his mates, but Collette needs distracting; something new in her life – so Salsa it is. Margaretta, who hails from Columbia, is not impressed with Collette’s over-enthusiastic efforts on the dance floor. More importantly, for Margaretta, she cannot understand why, each Friday, her graceful, athletic Jose seeks out this vulgar woman. Zofja Zolna plays the over-zealous Collette and Simon Marriott the long-suffering Darren in this lively, colourful comedy. Director: Mary Rochford. Musical director Kieran Graham.
