Catchy, melodic pop-rock with a bluesy twist… Omar Anthony is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from the West Midlands who has played in a number of bands spanning many different styles over the years. The exposure to various types of music has influenced Omar in attempting to blend genres together in his songs, which he began writing as a teenager. Current recordings have reference to indie-rock and blues, while those to come are more down-tempo and introspective with an electronic feel. Having experienced playing with many other musicians throughout his twenties he recently decided to have a go as a solo artist which is culminating in the recording of a debut album, the CD featuring 12 songs written over the last 10 years. The latest group project he has been involved in is Fatbwoi 5, a 3-piece alternative rock act from the Black Country with Omar on bass guitar and backing vocals, though the performance at ArtsFest will mainly feature his own compositions. Why not come and get a flavour as he offers up his own unique take on acoustic rock, playing solo versions of his most recent work…
