PoW-WoW (Prince of Wales Writers on Writing) is a friendly, informal, and supportive group for anybody interested in writing fiction. We meet in the cocktail bar at the Prince of Wales pub in Moseley. Sessions run from 8-10pm. In the first hour there is a guided discussion on a different topic each week, in the second there is a chance for members to read their work and get constructive feedback from the rest of the group. There is a charge of £5 for each session, but there is no obligation to commit- sessions are run on a drop-in basis. No writing experience is needed, just enthusiasm and an open mind! PoW-WoW aims to be different to other writing groups. It is run by novelist Andrew Killeen, and offers practical, down-to-earth support to help you achieve your writing goals. This is what current members have to say about the group: If you’re looking for a writers’ group that will encourage, challenge and inspire you, whatever your skill level, then Pow-wow will almost certainly exceed your expectations. The group has given me a much-needed and highly motivating community of writers for discussing ideas and problems, and the guidance that Andy provides is like a second education. POW-WOW has inspired me to stop thinking about writing a book and actually get on and do it. Andrew Killeen also offers one-to-one tuition, consultancy and manuscript appraisal.
