Sonanta Flamenca has been performing flamenco music in a variety of ways in the Midlands for many years and has performed at ArtsFest over several years under different names.The group has now settled into an instrumental trio (Sonanta Flamenca performed at ArtsFest last year)and we are building our repertoire to be ever more varied – traditional flamenco, fusion flamenco and contemporary flamenco music all appear in our programmes. Their programme is essentially guitar music with percussion support (cajon, tabla and palmas) working to combine these elements in every possible way. In the last year, they’ve worked a number of times for the RSC and Warwick Words festival. They will be the opening and closing performers at Warwick Words festival 2011.
