Stage2 is a Youth Theatre that operates mainly on Saturdays during term time, where we provide a full day of opportunities to all our members. Each term we offer at least one production option that any member can be a part of without auditioning – the main cast are chosen the term before, however if any member wants to be in the chorus then they just sign the register on the first day of term. We always vary our shows from one term to the next to ensure that our members are learning a range of skills, abilities and styles – we often perform set texts to help members with their schoolwork and exams. We also offer at least one Skills Workshop every term with past workshops including, Choral Speaking, Musical Theatre, Technical Theatre, Shakespeare, and sometimes a second production option. Each term we also always offer a General Drama workshop option which will teach members a range of drama skills that they can then apply in their performances. Stage1 is our ‘pregroup’ for 7 – 10 year olds, all 7 & 8 year olds have to go into Stage1, and 9 & 10 year olds have the choice. Stage1 gives the younger members of our company a great and fun introduction into the world of drama, acting and Stage2 as well as making new friends! We also offer work experience in Marketing, Fundraising, Mentoring, Technical Theatre etc…As well as organising social trips from Karaoke discos to week long trips to Butlins!
