Often described as Chamber Folk, TESS’ debut album ‘Magpie’ mixes vocals and guitar with string quartets. He has been likened to artists such as Damien rice and Nick Drake. He has also been featured in Mojo, Acoustic Magazine, The Independent and on Q Radio.
‘If he’d come along earlier, he’d probably have headlined at Soho’s {1960’s} Les Cousins on a regular basis. Not to be ignored’ MOJO.
‘TESS is a fine songwriter, his music is melodious… loaded with emotion’ Muisc-news.com
Highly influenced by such musical greats as Bowie, The Doors and John Lennon while growing up, TESS feels his songs are more like intimate diary entries, documenting the major passages of his life, making his songs and musical style truly unique. At times TESS’ songs are haunting and deeply personal, but they are always unmistakable.
