The Diva Collective

The Diva Collective are three vocalist, and a band, with different musical styles/influences, who are collaborating to create ‘Diva Soup!’: a musical fusion of different genres that wouldn’t necessarily be associated with one another – like bluegrass and funk! We just want to excite through experimentation!
Most of us have been involved in artsfest in the past, supporting other artist. Vocalist Indigo was a sucessful artsfest applicant last year, but due to a sore throat, couldn’t perform (she was gutted and hasn’t stopped crying since!). In terms of recent projects – myself and Indigo will be performing at the Bass Festival in June. Indigo also performs a jazz set at Nuvo Bar’s Manhattan Live Lounge, and we often perform together at the Tower of Song. Indigo, is currently in New York at the New York International Film Festival, promoting her song that was used in the film ‘Day one’. Also, we are all in the process of recording our own material.
The Diva Collective is unique in the sense that it’s musically diverse. We aim to cross bounderies and venture into musical terrain, beyond the expected. We have quite a wide musical repertoire, and really want to celebrate it. We’d like to think that we encapsulate the ethos of artsfest, which is the expression and celebration of the arts (our music) through diversity.
