Falling is a funny & moving show exploring the issue of falling amongst the elderly. We all fall from time to time throughout our lives. We fall in the playground during childhood, we can fall in and out of love during adulthood, we fall into debt and we fall out with friends and loved ones. Most of these we can recover from quite easily and go on to stand up straight and tall once more. However, when we fall as an older person, our confidence can be shaken and we can find it harder to “bounce back”. Falling features three elderly characters from different backgrounds, and explores the various reasons for falling amongst the elderly. Presenting a series of common scenarios that can lead to falls, the play suggests ways of preventing falls, and actions that one can take to prevent a possible recurrence. It also highlights the various options available to the elderly to help with rehabilitation and falls prevention.
