The Black Country Dancers are supported by the Youth Dance England inititive for the Black Country. The group were originally formed last year as part of the Making LInks project – but have since continued to be selected for further projects accross the West Midlands. The group consist of young people aged 16 – 25 who are studying dance or are becoming new artsists. The group have recently been performing accross the West Midlands at young peoples showcase events and most recently in Coventry. this will be teh first time the group gets to be involved with arts fest.
The work is unqiue as it shows a range of dance styles and versatile artsist using everyday props and language to explroe the term ‘community’. it will add diversity to the programme showing high quality performance and choreography performed beautifully by young dancers and artists who have grown and developed in the BLack Country/Birmingham area.
